Center Parcs currently attracts millions of visitors a year to its six sites across the UK and Ireland. Proposals are said to be at an "early stage" with a planning application for about 700 lodges intended to be submitted in 2025.
Chief executive Colin McKinlay said: "This is a tremendously exciting project and offers the opportunity to transform leisure and tourism in the Scottish Borders."
"Center Parcs is an exceptionally popular destination for families in the UK and Ireland and there is robust demand to support a seventh village."
"Throughout our history, we have demonstrated that a Center Parcs village provides significant economic benefits locally, regionally and nationally."
He said the area was the "ideal location" for expansion with its existing sites already full.

Glasgow is to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games after a deal was backed by the Scottish government.
A scaled-down version of the event, featuring fewer sports and athletes, will return to the city 12 years after it last hosted the Games. The Australian state of Victoria was originally chosen to stage the multi-sport event but withdrew as host due to rising costs. Australian authorities have promised "a multi-million pound investment" to help finalise the deal.
Health and Sport Minister Neil Gray held talks with Commonwealth Games Australia on Monday to discuss funding, and received the assurances the Scottish government were looking for.
It has now written to the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to officially back a "a scaled back, but high-quality" event which will see see 10 sports take place across four venues in the city.
The compulsory sports of Athletics and Swimming will be held at Scotstoun Stadium and Tollcross International Swimming Centre but the additional venues, as well as the dates for the event, have not yet been confirmed.

Eagled-eyed fans of the TV show have spotted a film set pop up in Eglinton Park in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, this week, for the next season of Outlander.
The time-travelling series, starring Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe, has become a huge hit since it first came on screens in 2014. Heughan, who hails from Balmaclellan, Dumfries and Galloway, has become an international star since winning the role of Jamie Fraser in the smash hit show.
Filming for the eighth and final season of Outlander is already underway with the Ayrshire scenes expected to begin filming later this month. The facade of an historical-style building popped up inside the country park last week.
The park is home to the ruins of Eglinton Castle, built in 1797 and 1802. Locals have taken to social media to express their excitement that their favourite show is being filmed on their doorstep.

The Bank of England's (BoE) monetary policy committee (MPC) has voted to cut the base rate from 5.25% to 5%. This decision was made by a five-to-four vote, and marks the first reduction in borrowing costs since March 2020, with Governor Andrew Bailey casting the deciding vote.
This strategic move by the BoE aims to support economic recovery amid stabilizing inflation, which has recently been on a downward trajectory and has held steady at around 2% for two consecutive months. The rate cut is expected to lower borrowing costs, providing relief to mortgage holders and stimulating property market activity. More attractive financing options may enter the market, boosting demand and enhancing consumer spending power and confidence, fostering a more favourable environment for property investments.
Bailey noted that inflationary pressures have "eased enough" to allow this rate cut, however, he urged caution, stating that significant rate reductions should not be expected soon -but the good news is that it is likely that we are now on a downward trajectory. Baily emphasized: "we need to ensure inflation remains low and avoid cutting interest rates too quickly".
Maintaining low and stable inflation is crucial for supporting economic growth and national prosperity. This rate cut is expected to positively impact the new Labour government as Keir Starmer aims to enhance living standards and strengthen the economy.

Royal Troon Golf Club, located in Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland, is one of the premier links courses in the world. Established in 1878, it has a storied history and is a regular venue for The Open Championship, golf’s oldest major tournament. The course is renowned for its challenging layout, with deep rough, gorse, and the unpredictable coastal winds presenting a formidable test. Its most famous hole is the par-3 8th, known as the "Postage Stamp," which, despite being one of the shortest holes in championship golf, demands precise accuracy. The club features two courses: the Old Course, which hosts the major championships, and the Portland Course, which offers a slightly less demanding but equally enjoyable experience. Royal Troon's rich heritage and the consistent high quality of its links make it a bucket list destination for golfers around the globe.
We are proud to have Eglinton Park where it is geographically situated, next door to the spiritual home of the beautiful game.
